The London Tea Room is a family-run British tea room in the heart of St. Louis — and what began as one family's search for a proper cup of tea has become a place where the whole city slows down for afternoon tea.
It started with a simple problem. Pat and Alan Richardson, two British expats, couldn't find a proper cup of tea anywhere in St. Louis. So, as any good Brits would, they opened a tea room of their own.
Nearly two decades on, the third generation of Richardsons carries the tradition forward from our home on Union Boulevard. We pour classic teas from The London Tea Merchant, serve European-inspired fare, and welcome every guest with the warm hospitality that makes our regulars feel like family.
The tea room is still growing — with seasonal afternoon teas, hands-on tea classes, private celebrations in our event rooms, and a boutique stocked with 90+ loose-leaf teas to take home. However you join us, our hope is always the same: a beautiful, unhurried afternoon, and a proper cuppa.
